Man dies after being pulled from water at Middleton Beach, Albany, WA

A man has died after he was pulled from the waters off a beach in Albany in the WA Great Southern region at the weekend.

Police said the man was pulled from the water at Middleton Beach about 10.40am on Sunday and brought to shore by a member of the public who attempted to perform first aid.

Paramedics attended the scene and transported the man in his 40s to hospital where he later died.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious,” WA Police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The incident was the second water tragedy in the state in as many days, with another man pulled from waters at an inlet in Leschenault, Bunbury a day earlier.

Police say the man in his 60s was fishing for crabs in the Leschenault Inlet on Saturday night when he was found unresponsive by a member of the public.

The man was recovered and received first aid from the passer-by.

Paramedics eventually took over however the man could not be saved.

The man’s death is also not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
