Everyone has a different colour palette based on their natural undertones, ranging from cool to warm.

Knowing your personal palette will allow you to find colours that complement you — whether it’s clothes, makeup, hair or jewellery.

Aly starts the video by explaining how she “can save you $300 to do your own colour analysis in 60 seconds.”

A professional colour analysis session in Australia costs between $200 and $385 for one-and-a-half hours.

“Knowing what colours look best on you is so powerful,” she said.

“I know this looks really intimidating but I’m going to break it down into three simple steps because everyone on the internet is overcomplicating things.”

1. Cool or warm

Step one is figuring out if you look best in cool or warm colours, she explained.

“If you look best in silver, you’re cool and you’re limited to winter or summer.”

“If you look best in gold, you’re warm which means you’re spring or autumn,” said Aly.

2. Bright or muted

Aly goes on to explain that step two “is the hardest part but you’ve got this.”

The fashion blogger said, “we are figuring out if you are bright or muted.”

She then suggests trying on a bright colour of lipstick and then a muted version of those same shades.

“If those bright colours overwhelm you, you’re muted — if you are soft and muted, you are summer or autumn.”

Whereas “if you are bright, you’re either spring or winter.”

Aly then says that once “you have your season, the last step will tell you which category you are.”

3. Contrast

The last step is all about contrast — “people who are dark have a lot of contrast between their hair, skin and eyes,” said Aly.

“I have dark hair, dark eyes and very pale skin -which makes me a dark autumn,” she explained.

However, she said that “you are soft if you have low contrast features, for example, dark skin, dark hair and brown eyes would be soft autumn.”

Finally, “if you’re contrast is kind of in between then you’re true autumn,” said the fashion blogger.

Aly suggests using “no makeup and natural lighting for the best results.”

However, she warns that her video contains “generalisations and there are subtleties to this, so work with a professional for the best results.”

Her video has almost two million views — with man praising her simple explanation.

“This is probably the best explanation I’ve seen — everything else made it so confusing, thank you,” said one.

Another said, “Yay, finally someone explained it better — I think I’m a true autumn.”

A third added, “This was SO helpful, thank you.”
