An elderly man has been freed from a car after he became trapped inside during a crash in Newcastle.
About 10am on Tuesday, multiple NSW Ambulance crews were called to Donald St at Hamilton after reports of a car accident.
A man aged in his 70s suffered injuries to his leg and back in the crash.
Firefighters cut off the side of the car using hydraulic rescue tools to free the man after he became trapped, Fire and Rescue NSW said.

He was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
